Mica
Use Cases
Mica
Mica is the name for a group of aluminum silicate minerals. An important property is their layered crystal structure with excellent cleavage. Mica is highly resistant to heat and chemicals (for example, acids), is electrically insulating, and is non-flammable.
Due to its properties, mica is suitable as an additive to compounds where it functions as a sound dampener, provides protection against high temperatures, serves as a corrosion inhibitor, acts as a separator, and offers UV protection. In electronics, it is used as an electrical insulator, but because of its sparkle, it is also a popular ingredient in paints and cosmetics.
We supply high-quality muscovite mica under several basic product lines, mainly differing in particle size. You can choose mica powder with a particle diameter ranging from 10 μm up to coarse products with mica flakes larger than 1 mm.
Upon request, we can also offer expandable vermiculite.
The usual packaging for mica is paper bags of 25 kg and 1,000 kg per pallet.
